Most personality tests are invented. Somebody decides there are four types, or sixteen, writes questions that sound about right, and hands back a flattering label you have no way to check. These work the other way round: the questions come from instruments that already exist in the research literature, and they are scored the way the researchers score them.
personality.reward.land is built and operated by Avertago ApS, a company based in Copenhagen. Avertago builds digital media platforms and the tools behind them — products that help people find opportunities, earn a little more, and get more out of the time they spend online.
We are a small team. There is no call centre and no sales department. The same handful of people decide what gets built, write the words on these pages, and read the email that arrives.
This site is one part of reward.land, a wider set of products built around the same idea: that there are more ways to earn, learn and get ahead than most people are ever shown. Elsewhere you will find remote jobs you can actually apply for and surveys that pay for your opinion. This is the part about you.
Every statement in both tests is taken verbatim from the IPIP item pools — public-domain personality scales used in real research, free for anyone to use and to check. The work style test uses seven facets of the IPIP-NEO-120 (Johnson, 2014). The money test uses the 50-item IPIP Big-Five Factor Markers (Goldberg, 1992), whole and in its published order.
Scales are used entire rather than trimmed down to the items that make a nicer story, and scored by IPIP’s own published procedure: reverse-keyed statements recoded, then summed per scale. IPIP publishes no population norms, which is why nothing here reports a percentile — only where you sit relative to the neutral midpoint of the scale.
When a page tells you what a trait tends to mean for your work or your earnings, the study behind it is named on that page — Barrick & Mount, Judge, Roberts, Le, and others. Not “studies show”. You can go and read the paper, and if you think we have read one wrong, we would like to hear about it.
Advertising. There is no signup, no paywall and no premium report keeping the interesting part back. You answer the questions and you get the whole thing.
They are self-report questionnaires, and self-report is easy to steer if you want a particular answer — which is exactly what makes it weak for selection. Nothing here is a clinical assessment or a hiring instrument. If somebody has sent you here as part of a job application, that is worth asking them about.
